More than 1,000 Izaak Walton Inn items up for sale
About 1,200 pieces from the historic Izaak Walton Inn will go up for sale. Attics of My Life of Whitefish is the broker.
Most of the items are furniture, noted Loge Camps spokesperson Slate Olson. Loge owns the inn.
Loge is currently renovating the historic inn in Essex, just outside of Glacier National Park.
While most of the items are furniture, there’s also a host of collectibles and artwork, including prints of Native Americans, railroad lights, old skis, a pool table, a host of old railroad signs and railroad-themed signs and light fixtures.
On the furniture end, there are chairs, dressers, lamps, desks and beds, and even a telephone.
The sale, located at the inn, is Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the inn.
People can also get a sneak peek at the renovations to the building.
Loge Camps bought the inn in December from Brian Kelly for $13.5 million. Kelly had owned it for 16 years prior to that.
While the name “Izaak Walton Inn” will continue to hang in the building, Loge plans on marketing the Inn under a new name, Loge Glacier National Park.
The hotel first opened in 1939, when the railroad built lodging for the workers tasked with keeping the mountainous section of track clear of snow and debris during winter.

The inn is expected to reopen either late this year or spring 2024.
Some of the items will also be donated to museums, noted Jenny Wessel, owner of Attics of My Life, an estate sales service.
