Glacier Symphony holds Chorale auditions
After the inaugural season in the acoustically excellent McClaren Hall at Wachholz College Center, Glacier Symphony is looking forward to another great season of sold-out performances and exciting programming. Before the start of its 41st Vibes and Visions Season, Glacier Symphony is holding auditions to welcome more chorale members to its ranks. The Glacier Chorale currently has over 80 volunteer singers but wishes to continue to grow this number and welcome in more talent from the Flathead Valley.
The Glacier Chorale will be holding auditions for the 2023-2024 symphony season on June 16 and 17 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. The audition process takes 30 minutes, and includes a brief interview, vocalizing with some basic vocal warmups, tests of basic musicianship (which include basic understanding of the piano keyboard and reading pitches and rhythms), and tonal memory exercises. No prepared solo is required. Auditions are by appointment and take place at the Glacier Symphony office at 69 N Main St. in Kalispell.
"The Glacier Chorale is made up of people of all ages and walks of life,” said Chorale Conductor, Dr. Micah Hunter, “We have college students, retirees, active professionals, entrepreneurs, stay-at-home parents, and all kinds of people you can imagine. The Chorale is a group of people who love singing and love the choral art."
