No. 2706 WHITEFISH CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The City Council will hold a public hearing and make a formal final vote on the item below on August 7, 2023. City Council meetings are held in the Whitefish City Council Chambers, Whitefish, Montana. 1. A Resolution by the City of Whitefish to annex and incorporate within the boundaries of the City of Whitefish by petition and consent of the property owner at 236 Jennings Lakeside Lane legally described as Lot 12, Whitefish Lake Summer Homes Amended in S 14, T 31 N, R 22 W, P.M.M., Flathead County, and at the same change the zoning of the property from County R-1 to WSR, Suburban Residential District, based on the findings in the staff report. No. 2707 CITY OF WHITEFISH PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday August 7, 2023, at 7:10 p.m. at the Whitefish City Hall, 418 E. Second Street, the Whitefish City Council will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public input regarding a proposed resolution of the Whitefish City Council to submit to the electors of the City qualified to vote the question of whether, to approve the use of the 3% resort tax starting February 1, 2025, as follows: (i) 25% for property tax relief; (ii) 48% for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of streets, including storm sewers, all underground utilities, sidewalks, curbs and gutters; (iii) 10% for community housing initiatives including the development of deed restricted affordable housing units and community housing programs; (iv) 10% for improvements and maintenance of bicycle and pedestrian paths and other park acquisitions, capital improvements, and equipment; (v) 2% for the maintenance and replacement of existing improvements of the Whitefish Trail with any amounts not expended within five fiscal years available for the maintenance of City bicycle and pedestrian paths; and (vi) 5% for merchants’ costs of administration. If approved the ballot issue will be presented to qualified voters during the November 7, 2023, general municipal election.
