Police Calls: Father of the groom loses his cool

July 1

Several items were stolen from a garage on Second Street last night.

A black sedan appeared to be camping in a vacant lot on Central Avenue.

The owner of the white Toyota was counseled after leaving a dog in the vehicle. The dog had been barking and panting but the officer reported that the dog appeared to be ok.

Someone found a wallet in the middle of KM Ranch Road. It is now at the police station.

The caller wanted to document the fact that her Subaru was egged this morning.

Lots of bad parking at a decontamination station was resolved.

A green Chevy with a grill in the bed of the truck was reported for swerving all over the road on Wisconsin Avenue.

A verbal altercation occurred at a location on Third Street after the father of the groom and a bartender had a disagreement over him being cut off due to his intoxicated state.

A white Jeep cut the caller off then stopped in the middle of the road on Highway 93.

Two males who had been drinking were fighting at a boat ramp. The parties were separated and counseled.

Fireworks and loud music were heard on Denver Street at 11:15 p.m. Law enforcement spoke with the owner.

Complaints of fireworks all along Whitefish Avenue were made.

Fireworks were heard on Haugen Heights.

July 2

There is an ongoing issue with golf carts driving on the bike path on Highway 93 and coming close to children on bicycles.

Law enforcement assisted a person trying to catch his dog on O’Brien Avenue.

A male on Columbia Avenue was seen stumbling before getting into a red Subaru and driving away.

A Grey pitbull was found, taken to the police station and returned to his owner.

A man threw his iphone and when it landed, it sent an iphone notification of a crash to law enforcement. All was well.

A truck pulling a boat was warned for having no license plate on the trailer and for having a taillight out.

A driver was given a warning for driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. The driver said he had just arrived in town and was not familiar with the area and had not seen the sign.

People were shooting off fireworks on Meadowlark Lane.

Fireworks were reported on Park Avenue and on Cascade Court. On Whitefish Avenue, the caller said people are setting off the “big” fireworks.

Fireworks were being shot off in the area of Colorado Avenue.

July 3

On Highway 93, a boat trailer had a flat tire.

A 60-pound, brown, black and white dog was lost when it jumped out of the owner’s truck last night.

A reckless driver was tailgating and trying to pass vehicles on the right over the viaduct.

A white Ford was tailgating and when told to back off, the driver yelled obscenities back along Wisconsin Avenue.

A caller reported that there were 3-4 young kids with one adult on Fifth Street and that the kids were throwing lit fireworks under people’s cars.

Someone was lighting fireworks on the sidewalk on Seventh Street.

A male shoplifter at a location on Highway 93 was being cooperative after being taken into custody.

A bunch of disorderly kids on 13th Street were screaming obscenities, swearing at the caller and using the “N” word. They were counseled.

An irresponsible dog owner became upset after causing distress to other people and other dogs on the walking path because his dogs were not on leashes and were posturing near other pups.The caller was concerned about the owner’s behavior as well as the dogs’ behavior.

July 4

Someone lost a driver's license.

Someone found a wallet at a business on Highway 93 and turned it over to police.

A truck and boat trailers were partially blocking Edgewood Place.

A vehicle was cited for blocking a fire hydrant on Dakota Avenue.

A cooler and a dry box were taken from a truck last night.

A bunch of cars were parked in the bicycle lane on Lakeside Boulevard.

A boat was stuck on a sandbar and everyone from the boat was taken to shore.

Noises were reported on Wisconsin Avenue and the caller stated they were explosions going on, not fireworks.

Fireworks were being lit on Fox Farm Drive.

A group of kids were setting off fireworks after midnight in the parking lot of a business on Wisconsin Avenue.

Seven males were reportedly fighting on the sidewalk on Central Avenue at 2:15 a.m.
