Whitefish Pilot | January 18, 2023 1:00 AM

The Bulldogs had two individual champions on their way to second place in sweepstakes at the Whitefish Invite on Saturday.

In public forum, the team of Jayce McDonald and May Rowles placed first while Addie Blackaby and Zoe Tremper took second place. In memorized public address, Whitefish’s Iona Saraille was the champion.

Other top finishers include the team of Cole Pickert and Jackson Schindler who placed second in duo interpretation. In extemporaneous speaking, Avery Sorensen was third and in original oratory Lauren Rossi placed fourth and Nessa Solomon was fifth.

Brynn McDonals and Logan Hyland also placed in public forum, taking fourth.

Whitefish head coach Sara Mueller was pleased to host a great tournament at Whitefish High School where so many on the team performed well.

“I was very grateful for a smooth running tournament thanks to amazing support from the community and school district, as well as awesome coordination within the tab room by my coach peers. Thank you so much to our judges!” said Mueller.

Whitefish now prepares for the Western A Divisional tournament at Columbia Falls on Saturday. Then the team will head to state in Sidney the following weekend.

“Whitefish is looking forward to closing out the season in the upcoming weeks with divisionals in Columbia Falls and state in Sidney,” Mueller said. “I am so proud of the family this team has built. They have learned to encourage each other and work together to develop the young talent we are blessed with.”
