Police Calls: Flaming car heads to town

Jan. 23

9:49 a.m. The caller spoke to the landlady in an effort to fix the issue, yet someone is revving a Jeep at all hours on Wisconsin Avenue.

2:59 p.m. After accidentally dialing 911, a female could be heard saying “don’t tell me what I’m trying to do.”

4:39 p.m. The caller would like an officer to check on the older man who is walking toward the beach and yelling nonsense and ask him to quiet down.

4:50 p.m. The green car with an elderly man in it had flames coming out of the bottom of it while he drove on the shoulder on Montana 40 toward Whitefish.

5:02 p.m. The guy on Spokane Avenue was trying to reset his Apple watch when he accidentally dialed 911.

1:40 a.m. It was thought that the male who stole a snowboard four days ago was back in the store on Highway 93.

Jan. 24

8:26 a.m. There was a truck and a camper taking up the whole parking lot on Baker Avenue.

9:51 a.m. An employee of the business on Highway 93 reported that a customer is shoving things into his pockets. The business would like the person cited for trespass.

1:44 p.m. The caller is concerned about a male that hangs out near the middle school and reported that he had seen the man fighting with some juveniles.

5:47 p.m. An employee of the business on Wisconsin Avenue wants the grey Mercedes that is parked on private property to be towed.

Jan. 25

9:13 a.m. An alarm on Baker Avenue sounded but everything was fine and the alarm was to be disregarded.

11:41 a.m. There was a report of a reckless driver on Wisconsin Avenue.

1:18 p.m. A Subaru was side swiped this morning on Lupfer Avenue.

2:13 p.m. A citizen was concerned about construction workers parking at the post office and taking up customer’s spaces. Additionally, he said the post office was doing nothing about it.

10:19 p.m. An alleged shoplifter left a business on Highway 93 in a light blue Ford.

Jan. 26

10:39 a.m. Although the caller said someone ran into the back of his vehicle, there was no damage and law enforcement was not needed.

1:31 p.m. The caller wanted clarification about why he had been charged with disturbing the peace.

5:20 p.m. There were three accidental 911 calls in the last two hours.

5:26 p.m. He had talked to the landlord about the broken lock on his house and was told he was on his own. Law enforcement advised him to call a locksmith but to go through the landlord.

6:19 p.m. Someone who had been stopped by a police officer thinks the officer did not return his license.

8:13 p.m. A caller reported a grey Toyota sedan with no headlights swerving all over Highway 93. The passenger was drinking but the caller was unsure if it was alcohol.

Jan. 27

8:21 a.m. A white SUV had rolled and was on its top and partially in the ditch on Big Mountain Road. The driver was uninjured.

8:44 a.m. There were no injuries when a Ford and a Toyota had an accident on Baker Avenue.

6:18 p.m. Ongoing parking and speeding issues with vehicles on Cottonwood Court has the caller looking for answers.

7:16 p.m. The vehicle parked on a sidewalk on Depot Street got a warning.

11:30 p.m. There was a male driving extremely fast down Denver Street, fishtailing and spinning out. The caller said he has done so for multiple nights.
