Police Calls: Driving recklessly, parking ‘like an idiot’

Dec. 4

-The caller left a family heirloom, a ring, in the room where they were staying on Wisconsin Avenue and it is missing. The owner is not sure if it was stolen or not.

-A request for extra patrol during lunchtime on Fourth Street was made because the caller thinks teenagers are driving recklessly and losing control of vehicles in the intersection.

-A Dodge and a Honda collided and the uninjured owners exchanged information.

-An ongoing issue on Vista Drive involves a dog who behaves aggressively toward other animals and the owner who gets defensive when people try to talk to him about it.

-The owner of an Oldsmobile locked her keys in the car and waited for assistance.


Dec. 5

-Someone lost his black, leather wallet when it fell out of his car on Highway 93.

-A reckless driver in a light-colored hatchback on Lakeshore Drive was reported for nearly hitting a pedestrian.

-A male tried to take two cans of alcohol from a business on Highway 93. 


Dec. 6

-There is apparently an on-going issue on State Park Drive wherein a neighbor is watching for the caller to come outside, then he comes outside with his dog at the same time. She said he does weirdo things and doesn’t want him around. She was advised he is free to be in the common areas but if his dog is off leash, she could call and the police will speak to him.

-It was a lucky day for the driver of a white Jeep who was warned for driving 69 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was issued a warning rather than a citation because the police car’s printer was not working.

-A female was being argumentative and was refusing to leave a location on Highway 93.

-Poorly parked cars were stickered on Somers Avenue, Pine Avenue, Brimstone Drive.

-The caller who was driving behind a red Chevy truck that ran a stop light, was swerving and almost hit two vehicles on HIghway 93, said the driver was drunk.


Dec. 7

-A friendly goldendoodle was lost from Texas Avenue.

-The owner of the phone who accidentally dialed 911 said her daughter accidentally sat on her phone.

-Allegedly, someone stole a vehicle then drove it to the train depot to catch a train.

-On another accidental 911 call, people were heard talking in the Verizon store while the accidental caller was getting a new phone because her current phone was causing issues.

-Four posters were removed from Central Avenue because they were against the city ordinance.


Dec. 9

-A motorist on Highway 93 attracted police attention by driving 62 mph in a 45 mph zone, failing to stop at a stop light and having no valid proof of insurance.

-A Lincoln Navigator either broke down or parked in a bad spot on Spokane Avenue and the owner was on his way to move the vehicle.

-A small black and gray mixed breed dog was found on Park Avenue.

-The caller wanted to know if it was OK to drive without a front bumper on his car.

-A hit-and-run accident occurred on Central Avenue when a black Subaru struck a white Yukon.


Dec. 10

-On Highway 93, a white Hyundai was reportedly driving 35 mph in a 60 mph zone and holding up 20 vehicles which were stacked up behind him. 


Dec. 11

-A green van was “parked like an idiot” on the wrong side of the road and right in front of a no parking sign.

-There is an ongoing issue with a construction company blocking the alley on Railway Street. The caller said he does not approach the workers any more because he found them to be rude.

-A transient male was reportedly harassing a barista on Highway 93 by banging on the window and asking for free things.

-A dark-colored Toyota 4 Runner was all over the road, driving across the center line and the white line.

-A black checkbook had been at the business on Highway 93 before an employee turned it over to police.

-A driver on Second Street received a citation for having an open container and no drivers license. He got warnings for his expired registration and broken headlight.


Dec. 12

-The caller asked the construction company on Wisconsin Avenue to stop parking in his driveway and on the bike path. When police spoke with the forman and there were no vehicles in violation upon arrival.
