Police Calls: Kids joke about grand theft auto, irritated man locks self in car

Dec. 1

-The driver of a Ford collided with a deer around 6:00 a.m. and was able to get the vehicle and the deer off the road.

-A snowmobile and trailer were reported stolen yesterday and there was more information today.

-A Chevy and a Toyota crashed on Highway 93 and there were no injuries.

-A gray minivan has been parked in a parking lot off Highway 93 for about a week.

-A Honda and a Chevy crashed on Baker Avenue. No one was hurt.

-The reckless driver of a red pickup truck was driving along Fourth Street, spinning out and trying to do donuts. The caller was worried his behavior would endanger the children who would soon be walking home from school.

-The driver of a black Jeep was reported for spinning out and drifting on Somers Avenue.

-A group of kids was walking on Sixth Street when one said he wanted to steal a car so they could drive to their destination and he was looking through parked cars. When counseled by police, the kids said it was just a joke.

-The lost Labrador cross was in the caller’s backyard but would get scared when the caller tried to grab him. The dog was wearing a collar.

-A hit-and-run accident on Highway 93 may have involved a silver Toyota Tundra.

-A male who had been drinking was throwing stuff at the caller’s wall and was refusing to leave. 

-Everything was found to be OK even though an alarm sounded on Preserve Parkway.


Dec. 2

-Someone plowed snow in front of the caller’s garage and she needed help getting out of her garage.

-There was a hit-and-run accident on Third Street but the other driver did leave a note.


Dec. 3

-At 6:13 a.m., it seemed too early in the morning for someone nearby on Rock Creek Court to be using a snowblower or something really loud, according to the caller.

-The caller on Fairway Drive was irritated and upset that he was locked in his car and couldn’t get out. The car was in his garage and the garage was open. Later, he managed to get out of the car and no longer required assistance.

-A vehicle slid off the road on Voerman Road and the footprints near the vehicle made it appear that the people had likely gotten a ride. The vehicle was not a hazard.

-Someone was asking questions about approaching police officers on the street in order to ask them questions.

-A customer in a business on Central Avenue found a handgun in the bathroom.

-At least six vehicles were stickered for faulty parking on Kalispell, Baker, Dakota Avenues, Woodside Lane and Second Street.

-There was evidence of a hit-and-run accident on JP Road.

-An employee of a business on Highway 93 asked the people sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot for several hours to move along. The people weren’t doing anything weird, but the employee just wanted them to go.
