Don ‘K’ makes donation to animal shelter
Don “K” Subaru presented a $3,100 check to the Flathead County Animal Shelter in recognition of the shelter’s dedicated staff finding forever homes for over 31 dogs and cats during October.
Subaru Loves Pets is an annual giving program for the dealership and is a local extension of the national Subaru Loves Pets initiative where local dealers partner with regional animal shelters to encourage adoptions of eligible pets. During the 2022 program, Subaru dealers’ combined efforts saw 47,000 cats and dogs find healthy and safe homes.
The Flathead County Animal Shelter is a unique shelter with a strong emphasis on rehabilitation, rescue, and adoption of as many pets as they possibly can back into caring homes and families.
“We are so grateful for this donation,” said division manager Austin Hicks. “We plan to use these funds to help with completing upgrades to the shelter to ensure that all pets receive the best care possible while we help them find forever homes. We sincerely appreciate Kevin and all of the team at Don ‘K’ Subaru for helping us to achieve the goal of a healthy, loving home for every adoptable pet that comes through our shelter.”
Kevin Kaltschmidt, general manager of Don “K” Subaru, said being locally involved is much more than just words to us, it is a business priority.
“We live here, raise our families here and, thanks to the incredible loyalty and support of our customers, we can give back in a meaningful way. In this case, to help the dedicated and caring team at the Flathead County Animal Shelter find homes for abandoned or homeless pets,” Kaltschmidt said.
