Country music star Miranda Lambert, bluegrass musician Billy Strings and Americana roots act the Turnpike Troubadours will headline the Under the Big Sky music festival near Whitefish next summer.

The three-day event, set for July 12-14, 2024, is expected to once again showcase a powerful and diverse roster of star-studded performances across Americana, Outlaw country, rock, indie-folk, and bluegrass music, according to a release from festival organizers.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 8 at noon Mountain Standard Time. In previous years, both general admission and VIP tickets have sold out quickly.

Under the Big Sky is open for all ages to attend, with children under six free.

Other noteworthy talent scheduled to perform at the festival include 2023 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Tanya Tucker; country music duo, Brothers Osborne; spellbinding singer/songwriter, Sierra Ferrell; the larger-than-life baritone, Paul Cauthen; and the ruggedly raw American country-folk musician, Charles Wesley Godwin. Rounding out the lineup is tenderhearted Canadian singer, songwriter City and Colour, and the American five-piece indie rock band, Mt. Joy, plus many others.

Flathead-based acts like Archertown, Badger Hound, Tomara, Miller Campbell, Denim Gold; along with Bozeman-based artists like Abby Webster and Madeline Hawthorne; and Missoula’s favorite sweethearts, The Lil Smokies, will also take the stage at the festival.

A press release states that the festival will continue working with the Whitefish Credit Union to recognize and honor resident heroes within the community, along with its recurring contributions to the local food bank. Under The Big Sky also will continue its partnership with Save Farmland, a nonprofit organization with a mission to protect and promote small farms in Montana. With the continuation of this partnership, the goal is to create awareness and raise proceeds for its various programs through on-site merchandise sales throughout the weekend.

This is the fifth year of the festival, which is hosted by Outriders Present productions, held at Big Mountain Ranch.
