Police Calls: Reckless driving and fireworks in August

Aug. 1
A caller locked his keys in his truck which was running, with the air conditioning on and his dogs inside, too.
A neighbor, reportedly, drove through a fence on Third Street.
Aug. 2
The caller was concerned about an older, intoxicated male who was sitting under a tree, but when law enforcement checked on him, he said he was doing great and didn’t need any help.
A GMC Sierra was seen on HIghway 93 driving all over the road into oncoming traffic.
The driver of a Nissan Sentra with Florida plates was swerving and passing vehicles on the right on Wisconsin Avenue.
Aug. 3
A caller reported seeing a jet ski chasing the scooper plane that was getting water to fight a wildfire. No jet ski was found.
A man walking along Highway 93 appeared to have an IV in his arm. The caller wanted the man to be returned to the hospital to have his IV removed properly.
The gate on a landscaping trailer fell open and hit another vehicle, causing minor damage. Parties exchanged information.
A brown and white bulldog was found and returned to the owners.
Three kids pulled some of the public works’ signs into the pedestrian tunnel to use as a ramp for their bikes and skateboards. One of the kids had a pellet gun and was shooting at the walls of the tunnel.
A reckless driver in a sedan-type vehicle was out in a field doing donuts.
Fireworks were heard going off near the lake.
A male sleeping in the gazebo was advised of the city ordinances and he moved along.
Aug. 4
The people who were camping in a tent at a beach were moved along.
A black Ford backed into a black Dodge in a parking lot on 10th Street.
A group of people partying in a gazebo and being very loud was advised of the city ordinances.
Aug. 5
Juveniles in the Northern Heights area were setting off fireworks.
Someone’s wallet was stolen after it fell from his pocket while getting into his vehicle on Wisconsin Avenue.
The neighbor on Skyles Place had a fire going and it smelled like kerosene and there were winds raging and the flames were going as high as the deck. The person reporting it said it didn’t look safe.
A woman who accidentally dialed 911 will try to disable the function on her phone that is to blame.
A bar on Central Avenue had way too many people inside because they oversold a concert.
A lifted Dodge truck was seen trying to do burnouts on Lupfer Avenue.
Aug. 6
A small husky-type dog was left in a vehicle with no windows down on Second Street.
Someone was looking for his vehicle in the parking garage but it was located on Central Avenue.
An Audi sports car was seen speeding and running a stop sign on Wedgewood Lane.
Car keys and a wallet were found and returned to the owner.
Aug. 7
The driver of a small truck was cited for improper registration, fictitious plates and an obstructed windshield on Highway 93.
Seemingly random property was found in the roadway on Texas Avenue.
A truck was blocking traffic lanes on First Street.
