Police Calls: Reckless drivers and a sinking manhole cover

July 16
A white Ford with Idaho plates was cited for parking in an area clearly marked ‘no parking’ with a sign and yellow paint.
“Jesus saves” signs all over town are illegal because the power company is not supposed to put anything on power poles. The caller suggested someone who might know who is putting them up.
Vehicles were parked hazardously and illegally on Lakeshore Drive.
The neighbor conflict on Park Avenue over dog feces caused one caller to be counseled about proper use of 911. The caller said the neighbor's dog poops in her yard and the caller has taken it out of her yard and put it on the neighbor's deck.
An unfixed, male yellow Labrador who appeared to be a puppy, was causing a ruckus at a restaurant on Wisconsin Avenue and evading capture. Both numbers on the dog’s collar were called but there was no answer.
There is, reportedly, a house on Lion Mountain Road that is always playing music so loud, it shakes the caller to the core.
July 18
There was some noisy construction work going on around 6 a.m. on Meadowlark Lane and the caller wanted to know what the rules were for starting times.
Police were notified about a dog left in a hot vehicle for a while who appeared to be in distress.
A man called to report a drunk driver who was almost hitting people on Second Street.
There was a man sitting on top of a roof with his legs dangling on First Street.
July 19
A Dodge pickup has been parked for four days on Ponderosa Court.
The driver of a gray Toyota was swerving all over the road and almost hit two vehicles on Highway 40.
A reckless driver was reported on Highway 93, not paying attention and talking on his cell phone.
A driver on Lakeshore Drive was thought to have been drinking as he was crossing both sides of the road and going into the dirt.
A customer at a business on Highway 93 loaded her car and gave the employee a check for only half the amount due.
July 20
A caller was not sure if her wallet was misplaced or stolen from her vehicle.
The driver of a Pepsi truck was having a tough day, having hit a large rock and possibly an awning, as well.
There was a report of a dog, panting in a parked Ford with Colorado license plates on Central Avenue.
There was a suspicious male getting his car washed on Baker Avenue.
Three middle school aged kids were in the middle of the road on Wisconsin Avenue at 10 p.m., yelling profanities at the cars who had to swerve to avoid hitting them. The youths were advised of city ordinance and cautioned on their use of language.
July 21
A person was kind enough to deliver the neighbor’s dog, a black and white border collie, to the police station after it had gotten out of his own yard.
People might have been camping on private property on Nature’s Way.
Someone called to report two dogs inside a parked Chevy Truck at a business on Highway 93 for at least 15 minutes.
For a short period of time around 3:45 p.m., a manhole cover on Spokane Avenue was not on properly.
Around 9 p.m., the manhole cover on Spokane Avenue was out of place again. A cone was placed at the site.
A dog was left in a blue or gray van on Spokane Avenue. The caller reported it had been there for an hour and the dog appeared to be hot and possibly in distress.
The cone that was placed on Spokane Avenue to mark a missing manhole cover seemed to be sinking low and it was hard to see.
