Each year, an all-girls jamboree-style event is held at the end of the youth hockey regular seasons to encourage continued growth in the game for girls. This year, the jamboree was well-attended, with 60 participants, despite obstacles such as spring break, other commitments, limited available ice time and travel.

The jamboree starts with a skills/drills session for 6U, 8U and 10U girls led by student coaches, followed by scrimmage. On Saturday a series of round robin, half-ice games for each age group are played and the event finishes with a large, full-ice game and some Easter Eve goodies.

Organizers are always thrilled seeing those little smiles out on the ice and excited about the future of girls hockey! Thank you to event organizers, coaches, student coaches, parents, Stump town Ice Den, Glacier Hockey Association and all who helped to make this a success.
