Lady Bulldogs top Ronan on the court

| September 28, 2022 1:00 AM

The Whitefish volleyball team took care of business last week when the Bulldogs defeated Ronan in four sets, 23-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22.

The Bulldogs battled the Maidens in the first set, but Ronan took the lead and held on. Whitefish was on fire in the second set, building a strong lead early on. The third and fourth sets were a good challenge with back-and-forth play.

“Whitefish came ready to play tonight,” Bulldog coach Addy Connelly said. “The girls executed and played controlled volleyball. Despite a game-ending injury to our Libero, the girls rallied together and took care of business.”

Whitefish had 41 team kills to Ronan’s 26 — leading the way at the net for the Bulldogs was junior Brooke Zetooney with 19 kills. Isabella Hartwig added nine kills and also a team-high of four blocks. Kaydence Blackwell and Ainsley Scott had 20 and 15 assists respectively. And the 46 Whitefish digs were spread throughout the team.

Whitefish was scheduled to play Columbia Falls on Tuesday after press time, then will play Browning at Whitefish High School on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
