GM opening

Whitefish Lake Golf Club is looking for a qualified person to hire for the position of General Manager for the golf club. This is a part-time position involving the oversight of the entire operation including; finances, facilities, documents, leases and contracts. The job summary and qualifications are listed on the WLGC website at www.golfwhitefish.com.

Feel a release

All good players release the club through impact. A release is when the club makes a square impact with the ball and then the hands and forearms roll over, so the toe of the club points up as it extends. Try taking a club and splitting your hands so one hand is at the top of the grip and the other one neat the bottom. Swing the club with this grip and you will feel how your right arm rolls over your left in a release of the club. Do this drill, then swing normally to feel the release and more effective contact.

Bag room closing

With the demolition of the bag room scheduled to start near the first of October, everything stored must be removed no later than Sept. 15. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but in order to complete our remodel in a timely manner it is important to be ready on time.

Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the WLGA is set for Saturday, Oct. 15, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the restaurant. So far we have two candidates filing for the two open seats on the Board of Directors. According to the by-laws at least one of the vacant seats must be filled by a female tier one member who has been involved for at least five years. If you are a tier one member and interested in possibly serving a three-year term on the board please contact Terry Nelson at terry@golfwhitefish.com.
