WLGA Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the WLGA will be held on Oct. 15 starting at 9:30 a.m. with a business meeting and brunch. The Board of Directors will present various committee reports and a current financial statement to the members and also conduct the election of two new board members. Tier One members interested in serving on the board should contact Terry Nelson at terry@golfwhitefish.com to express their interest in running for the board. To be eligible for the board the Tier One member must be at least 18 years old and have been a member for five or more years.

Green reshaped

Our maintenance staff will begin reshaping No. 11 green on the South Course in mid-September of this year. The remodel is designed to decrease the slope of the green and create more potential hole locations. The process will include removing the sod temporarily, reshaping the surface and then reinstalling the sod in the areas affected. Long slopes of more than 2% are not suitable for fair-hole locations.

Remodel in October

The demolition and remodel of the clubhouse bagroom area will begin on Oct. 3, so all items stored in the bagroom will need to be out of the building by mid-September. Our members can look forward to having two additional simulators to use once the project is completed in late spring of 2023. The long-range goal of the remodel is to improve the use of the space by adding needed office space for staff and improve the efficiency of the kitchen service access to the lounge and deck.

Board searches for GM

The board of directors is in the initial stages of searching for a new General Manager/Secretary for the club this fall. The position will be posted on the club’s website and on other job search locations starting this week. After 26 years of doing this job, I will be stepping down and trying to retire for the second time. This is a part-time job where I’ve had the privilege of working with a tremendous staff and board members over my tenure at WLGC.
