WTC holds auditions for Little Women

The Whitefish Theatre Company is holding auditions for its holiday production of “Little Women” on Oct. 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Please arrive early to fill out an audition application and a waiver form. Please enter at the north side of the building near WTC’s parking lot and conference room.

In Kate Hamill’s sparkling adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel “Little Women”, Jo March is not your typical Victorian lady. She is ambitious, rough around the edges, headstrong and yearns for the day when she will be a great American novelist. As the nation is torn apart by civil war, Jo and her sisters struggle with what it means to grow up, as each sister must negotiate her private ambitions with society’s expectations of gender and class. Written with a contemporary flair and called “ingenious, saucy and spunky” by The New York Times, Jo March gives us her greatest story: the March sisters, four dreamers destined to be imperfect little women.

Linda Grinde is the director of this production. The cast is comprised of at least seven women and three men, ages 20s to 70s, although the cast may be larger depending on auditions. No preparation is required for the audition.

Rehearsals will begin on Oct. 27. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 9-10 p.m. There are seven performances over two weekends on Dec. 8-11 and 16-18.
