Parks Department receives federal grant for Armory improvements
Whitefish Parks and Recreation Director Maria Butts, who the city says continues to explore grant opportunities that save the taxpayers of Whitefish thousands of dollars, recently garnered a grant to help with improvements to the City of Whitefish’s largest park.
Announced at the City Council meeting last week, the Parks and Recreation Department was awarded a grant from the Land, Water and Conservation Fund in the amount of $257,502 to be used for the Armory Park Improvement Project.
With this grant secured, the Armory Park Project will be funded by over $500,000 in federal grant monies combined with a 50% match by the city, primarily from resort tax and Paved Trial Impact Fees.
