Whitefish Shines is the all-volunteer community effort to decorate the city for the winter season and it’s been decking halls of Whitefish for over 70 years. Jim Trout and Chris Schustrom are the engines behind the event and they orchestrate it brilliantly. On Sunday morning, the bells, garlands and traditional Santa ornament were carefully placed with help from Flathead Valley Electric Cooperative crews. Together, under gray skies and with a temperature of 14 degrees, they brightened the town.
