Construction moving forward

The framing of the remodeled bag room area at the golf course is well underway with walls starting to rise this week. The framing in the newly oriented Golf Shop is also moving along nicely with partitions being completed last week. The project remains on schedule for a late May to early June completion. The opening of the course will not be impacted by the construction as we plan to open on our normal schedule in 2023.

Board approves budget

The hard work of arriving at a budget for 2023 has been completed and approved by the BOD at last week’s meeting. Given the course improvements planned and the high rate of inflation, increases in rates were inevitable for the next season. It should be noted that Whitefish Lake Golf Club is by far the best value and lowest priced golf in the area as well as being the premier golf facility.

Tee time policy

As discussed in last week’s column the board committee has made several changes that could make tee times slightly more accessible in 2023. Another change this coming season will be to have all players check in 30 minutes before their tee time to make sure they are using all four spots that were booked. The 30 minutes will allow time to adjust and combine groups if appropriate. The club plans to initiate a card scanner to make the check-in process easier for players and the starters to get all the names of the group recorded. The changes for 2023 also include not allowing groups to book 36 holes of golf in the same day. Keep checking the column for more information and remember we are listening to concerns.
