Whitefish speech and debate begins season at Kalispell Kick-off
The Whitefish High School speech and debate team kicked off the season by competing at an invite in Kalispell on Saturday.
Bulldog coach Sara Mueller said the team was small this week, but they are looking forward to having a larger team to take to tournaments as the season progresses.
“Although we were a small team, we went into the tournament well-prepared and ready to start competing,” Mueller said.
At the tournament, Whitefish had one student place as freshman Annie Walsh took eighth place in the humorous interpretation category.
“I was excited for Freshman Annie Walsh to place at her first tournament in a very competitive event,” Mueller said. “We are looking forward to taking a bigger team to the next tournament in Polson.”
The Kalispell Kick-off tournament was the first competition of the season which runs through the second weekend of February.
The Bulldogs will compete again on Saturday in Polson.
