As the winter season approaches, the Glacier Nordic Club (GNC) is opening up registration for all youth ski programs for the 2022-23 season.

GNC has been serving the Flathead Valley with cross country ski education and fitness for youth and adults alike for 40 years. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to continuing its existing, successful programs, while seeing a bright future ahead by growing to meet new interests and challenges. The primary base of operations and services have been at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course, yet over the years the addition of the Haskill Basin area trails and the Big Mountain trailhead have added plenty of diversity and challenge for all ages and ability levels.

This year, GNC will once again be grooming at the Meadow Lake Golf Course in Columbia Falls to better serve patrons on the east side of the valley as well.

Club Memberships for the coming winter are at the early season discount rate until Nov. 6, 2022 and can be purchased online at glaciernordicclub.org.

The open registrations include all the youth ski programs:

Chet Hope Youth Ski League - classic skiing for ages 4-10 years old, meeting one day per week, beginning in January 2023.

Junior Jets - ages 8-11 years, meets 2 days/week and introduces skate skiing to broaden the skill set created in classic skiing foundation, beginning in December 2022.

Prep/Prep Pro - middle school age skiers with some background experience who are interested in training, racing and an elevated level of challenge to go along with the fun.

Teen Adventure - for middle and high schoolers who are new to Nordic, and/or prefer once a week options. Skiers can choose either once a week for just classic or just skate, or sign up for both.

Comp/Comp Pro - for high school aged skiers who continue to develop skills, their love for the sport, have an interest in the training and racing opportunities and advance with their peers through the program.

All program registration is through skiclubpro.com from the glaciernordicclub.org website.

Season rental equipment is available to all registered youth program participants through the Glacier Nordic Ski Team. Scholarships are also available to those in need of assistance.

Our Adult ski education programs for beginners through experienced skiers will become available for online registration starting in November at (glaciernordicclub.org).
