Tee to Green: Cart path renovation, new tees to open at golf course
Renovation of 18th Cart Path
The crew at Whitefish Lake Golf Club has begun work on renovating the existing cart path on 18 North to make it smoother and wider. The path is not going to be relocated at all but will simply be improved in the same spot. The North and South Courses have about 8 miles of cart paths, that like streets, need constant maintenance.
New First Tee to Open
The new White/Blue and Black tees will be opening this week for play on the first hole of the South Course. The new putting green is still a few weeks away from being ready for traffic, but it is looking good and will be a vast improvement over the old practice green on the South. Thanks to our maintenance crew for nursing the new green along as emerges from winter, and also thanks to our members for your patience.
Make more putts
If you struggle with your putting, try this experiment the next time you play to see if you make more putts. Every time you have a breaking putt, play a little more break than you think you need. Every time you have an uphill putt, try to go about one to two feet past the hole. Most putts are missed on the low side of the hole, and most long putts or uphill putts are left short of the hole. See if this experiment helps you hole more putts and improves your score.
Plans are moving forward with Club House Remodel
The WLGA Board and the building committee are working with Montana Creative Architects and making progress toward the planned remodel of the current bagroom area of the clubhouse. The actual remodel work is not scheduled to begin until October of this season. More information will be available soon for members interested in seeing what the plans involve.
