Police Calls: Highway 93 used as speedway
April 20
12:14 p.m. Someone misplaced a brown leather wallet and a black and white jacket on Spokane Avenue.
6:40 p.m. A husky with two differently colored eyes that was lost was later found by his owner.
April 21
9:55 a.m. The owner of the large fifth wheel that was parked too long was informed that he needed to move it by this evening.
2:37 p.m. Someone walking along Columbia Avenue was nearly struck by a bicyclist and wanted police to talk to people riding bikes on the sidewalk.
2:48 p.m. Girls’ underwear was found in the mulch near a playground.
4:27 p.m. A hit and run accident happened on Highway 93.
4:56 p.m. Another hit and run accident happened on Highway 93.
4:56 p.m. It’s not the first time the driver of a black Escapade has been accused of reckless driving. This time, he blew through a crosswalk on Baker Avenue.
April 22
2:26 a.m. No one knows if the driver is passed out or not but he’s been parked in front of the ice chest somewhere on Highway 40 for about an hour.
12:34 p.m. Before he parked in a driveway, the driver was on his phone and swerving at approximately 5 mph along Karrow Avenue.
2:24 p.m. A man wearing a green hat was arrested for concealing $30 of merchandise at a business on Highway 93.
10:31 p.m. A female who was slurring her words and a neighbor who was yelling on Lupfer Avenue were counseled on the noise ordinance.
10:51 p.m. Two males, one clad in pajama pants, were on the roof and the caller wanted police to ask them to move along.
April 23
2:00 a.m. The caller and the dog’s owner made contact and handled the issue themselves when a dog was heard barking for about an hour on O’Brien Avenue.
1:57 p.m. A citizen who claimed to have “cleaned the fish” today returned a traffic cone to the police station.
4:51 p.m. A caller reported a black Porsche and a silver Mercedes using Highway 93 as their race track to fly northbound at speeds of at least 100 mph.
7:36 p.m. Two other vehicles were racing each other southbound on Highway 93. The driver of the silver vehicle was swerving, speeding, and flipping off the caller.
10:18 p.m. A gunshot was heard and the shooter might have been driving northbound over the viaduct.
