Whitefish’s Arnold Peterson turns 100
Whitefish resident Arnold C. Peterson, lovingly known as “Poppy,” celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday in Whitefish with his family and friends, including two daughters, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Peterson served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and is happy to share his memories with visitors. A book of well-wishes reveals what a special man he is. One message says Peterson demonstrates “a life well-lived in service to God, to family, to country, and to community.” Others describe him as being accomplished, enjoying a richness of life and having a positive impact on so many people.
When asked how he felt about having his 100th birthday, Peterson replied, “It’s a big deal for me; I never dreamt it would be me in such a position.”
