Voting begins for Best of Whitefish
Whitefish is a unique, small community with an abundance of creative ideas, delicious food and drinks, and interesting people serving each other day after day. In the Whitefish Pilot’s annual friendly competition, Best of Whitefish, the best this community has to offer will be voted to the top and recognized for the remarkable products, services and activities provided in this town.
We’re kicking off the Best of Whitefish this week asking our readers to vote for their favorites. By participating in the competition, you can let us know who does it the best and send them some appreciation for the extra effort by voting for them.
For more than a decade the Pilot has been hosting this poll of favorites, but this year we’ve moved the competition dates up and extended both the nomination and voting periods to ensure everyone has a fair chance to be selected as the best in Whitefish.
Beginning today, on March 16 there’s a three-week nomination period that runs through Tuesday, April 5. This is the time when you’ll get to enter your favorites into the competition and then we’ll narrow it down to the finalists. If you want to make sure a business, activity or organization makes it onto the final ballot, then make sure you are getting your nominations in during this time.
On April 6, voting begins during which you’ll return to cast your ballot to determine the winners in each category. Voting ends on Sunday, May 1, at 11:59 p.m.
Nominations and voting can be done through the Pilot’s website at whitefishpilot.com/bestof/
You can vote once per day throughout the contest. Voting will also enter you in the chance to win a prize of your own.
As always there’s the chance to vote for things like the best breakfast in town, your favorite hair stylist and let us know who is the best local musician. But we’ve yet again added a some new categories this year, like best grab-and-go lunch, best aesthetician, best neighborhood and best dispensary.
Additionally we almost doubled our Arts section with new categories such as best music program, favorite dance program, and best creative workshop, while keeping the classics like best photographer and artist. In Outoors, we created new categories like best outdoor guide, best rental outdoor gear and best hiking trail for families.
The section titled Uniquely Whitefish is a fan favorite, and will feature new categories like best farm, place with the most local charm, best extracurricular activity for kids and, just for kicks, best bathroom.
These are just a handful of examples of the 100-plus categories you can cast your nominations and votes for during the Best of Whitefish competition.
When we’ve tallied all the votes, then we’ll reveal the winners to the community in a magazine published in the Pilot and distributed around town; Winners will get their very own certificate to proudly display.
Now is the time to begin nominating and voting for your favorites in the community. Let the annual Best of Whitefish begin!
