Police Calls: An accidental call to 911 blamed on car's cup holder

March 4

7:50 a.m. An elderly man visited a coffee hut drive-through on foot and made disturbing remarks to the barista before collecting his stuffed animal and walking away.

8:35 a.m. A pedestrian on Baker Avenue wanted drivers to slow down so she could avoid getting showered with puddle water from cars speeding through the crosswalks.

10:07 a.m. A large black dog is still at large on Texas Avenue.

10:10 p.m. A caller reported his co-pilot, a beagle, has been missing for hours.

10:47 p.m. The once-missing white husky returned home.

12:50 a.m. There was a bar fight outside a Central Avenue bar involving patrons and bouncers.

March 7

4:03 p.m. Some ice-cream-eating tweens claimed they did not see another youth throwing rocks at vehicles.

March 9

8:32 a.m. A daughter locked the keys in her father’s car when she was at the gas pump.

9:19 p.m. The crosswalk sign on the corner of Spokane Avenue and Baker Avenue was sideswiped and ended up on the ground.

March 10

11:13 a.m. Multiple dogs from multiple apartments are running together freely on Arielle Way. The HOA president is sending out letters and making phone calls in order to gain some control of the situation. He says no one obeys the leash laws.

12:30 p.m. An accidental call to 911 came from someone who hit too many buttons on his phone.

4:56 p.m. Another accidental call to 911 was blamed on the car’s cupholder.

11:55 p.m. After accidentally dialing 911 for the fourth time, the frustrated caller on Park Avenue said he was going to get a new phone.

March 11

5:10 p.m. Man’s best friend locked the man out of his car at a gas station on Highway 93. The man phoned the police from the station because his phone was locked, with the dog, inside the car.

7:37 p.m. Raucous party noises including loud music and yelling on Colorado Avenue prompted an apartment manager to call the police. An officer investigated, the party was deemed reasonable, and the caller was informed of the 10:00 p.m. city noise ordinance.
