Whitefish Community Foundation awards grant to FAST Blackfeet
Whitefish Community Foundation has awarded a grant to FAST Blackfeet to cover the costs of repairing the organization’s mobile food pantry van. The van, which was damaged by vandals earlier this year, is used to deliver food to people in need throughout the Blackfeet Reservation. Grant dollars from the foundation’s Micro-Grant Program were used to replace and install a new windshield, antenna and door handle.
FAST (Food Access and Sustainability Team) Blackfeet is a group of community leaders, health professionals, educators and involved citizens within the Blackfeet Nation who are dedicated to identifying and addressing food security in their communities. Whitefish Community Foundation has a history of supporting local nonprofit organizations, including Land to Hand and North Valley Food Bank, that provide health and human services on the Blackfeet Reservation.
Whitefish Community Foundation’s Micro-Grant Program assists small nonprofits with immediate needs. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $1,000 in Micro-Grant Program funding once per year.
