Water main break on Spokane Avenue

The City of Whitefish released a statement around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 reporting a water main break on Spokane Avenue.

The city is in the process of repairing the water main and Public Works has requested that vehicles avoid using Spokane Avenue between East Fifth Street and East Second Street. The city is asking people to make every effort to use an alternate route such as Baker Avenue, Kalispell Avenue or Columbia Avenue.

"Thank you for your patience as we work to restore service to this area," the City's release says.

The release did not state an estimated timeframe for the repair.
