The Glacier Twins went 2-2 in the Ed Gallo Wood Bat Tournament last Thursday through Sunday at Memorial Field.

In the final game of the tournament, the Twins downed the Clarkfork Riverdogs 13-3 on Sunday evening. The Twins jumped out to a four-run first inning, but Clarkfork responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Glacier would further its lead in the second inning off a Kellen Kroger RBI single to make it 7-3. Kroger struck again in the fourth with a two-run single to up the lead to 10-3.

The twins went on to end the game early under the mercy rule at Memorial Field. Glacier totaled 10 hits in the game and Jake McIntyre threw all five innings, allowing just two hits, two walks and one earned run.

To start the Gallo tournament on Thursday, the Twins faced the Spokane Expos. Glacier defeated the Expos 6-2 after taking the lead for good in the fifth inning. McIntyre and Mason Peters each collected two hits in the game.

Friday the Twins saw their first loss of the tournament when they fell to the North Spokane Dodgers 6-2.

Glacier fell behind early on in the game and would never gain the lead despite out-hitting the Dodgers seven to four.

Peters was on the hill for the Twins, allowing three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one. Twins’ Josiah Ruther threw three innings out of the bullpen.

Peters went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead his team in hits.

Saturday, the Twins dropped another close game to Gonzaga Prep Navy — 6-3.

The Twins led 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning, but allowed Gonzaga Prep four runs to take the lead; Glacier couldn’t answer in the bottom of the seventh.

Kroger threw three innings, but he, Meehan and Glass allowed just two earned runs. The Twins had six errors in the field and got little going after a Gonzaga pitching switch in the fifth inning.

The Twins were set to play in Libby Tuesday after press time. Next, Glacier will take on Clairmont on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Memorial Field and then play in a tournament in Helena from June 30 to July 4.
