Police Calls: Callers flip over skateboarders

June 7

6:34 a.m. A caller who was driving southbound on Wisconsin Avenue reported that a black Suburban passed him doing 100 mph. The Suburban then went around a school bus and ran a red light.

12:21 p.m. On Wisconsin Avenue, a young black bear hung out in a truck for a while then pulled down a bird feeder while climbing up a tree.

2:36 p.m. The caller heard the accident last night but didn’t see the damage until today. Someone drove through the lawn and ran over the mailboxes on Second Street.

June 8

8:43 a.m. A husband is heading to the police station to see if his missing wallet is there.

8:50 a.m. The black and tan German shepherd in the caller’s yard had no idea he was in violation of the HOA but the caller says it is an ongoing issue.

3:33 p.m. A caller stated he received a package full of Adderall and what looked like meth cocaine and wanted to speak to an officer about what to do with it.

5:29 p.m. The driver of a red sports car accidentally ran the red light while turning into the grocery store parking lot and called police because he wanted to ‘turn himself in.’

7:09 p.m. He called because he just wants the skateboarders to be told to quit; he doesn’t want them to skateboard on the new steps and it seems they are being obnoxious. When an officer arrived, the skateboarders could not be located.

9:02 p.m. The key to the caller’s new car doesn’t work and he was only given one key.

June 9

12:10 a.m. A bike rider found a phone and asked the police to come get it.

8:14 a.m. The owners of two dogs, a pit bull and a Labrador let them run around the neighborhood on Flint Avenue.

8:36 a.m. A man in a black sweat suit on Railway Street reportedly sleeps, gets up and mumbles, paces, then sleeps again.

2:50 p.m. In addition to the multiple cats who defecate all over his yard, the neighbors also have a dog who constantly barks when the caller goes outside on Edgewood Place.

3:58 p.m. The caller heard a crash on O’Brien Avenue but didn’t see it.

4:06 p.m. Someone has questions about the rules and regulations governing skateboarders on Central Avenue.

5:57 p.m. The caller saw a driver who had cut off several vehicles on Highway 93 leave a business and reported it to police. The caller added that the driver smelled of alcohol.
