No. 2647 CITY OF WHITEFISH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PRELIMINARY BUDGET NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whitefish City Council will consider adopting the proposed preliminary budget for Fiscal Year 2023 at its regular meeting to be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 7:10 p.m. in the Whitefish City Council Chambers at 418 East Second Street. Any taxpayer or resident may appear at the public meeting and be heard for or against any part of the proposed budget. The proposed budget has been placed on file and is available for inspection in the City Clerk's office located at 418 East Second Street. CITY OF WHITEFISH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON SOLID WASTE RATES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at its regular meeting on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 7:10 p.m. in the Whitefish City Council Chambers at 418 East Second Street, the Whitefish City Council will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public input regarding the proposed solid waste rates. After a public hearing held on May 2, 2022, the Whitefish City Council approved a contract amendment with Montana Waste Systems, Inc. dba North Valley Refuse and locally referred to as Republic Services. The contract amendment requires that all residential locations use animal resistant Kodiak KP95-HD carts. The proposed rate increase will cover the additional cost of the new animal resistant containers. Additionally, since solid waste rates were not adjusted during the past two years to lessen the burden on ratepayers during the pandemic, a portion of the proposed rate increase will also provide for the cost of service for the City to administer the billing operations related to solid waste services.
