Police Calls: A man was not disorderly, just aloof
June 13
8:23 a.m. A red Toyota Tacoma was swerving in and out of the ditch on Second Street.
11:03 a.m. A caller on Wisconsin Avenue reported that a bear near his house is trying to break into recycling and trash cans. He said he sprayed the bear with bear spray and got his kids indoors.
1:51 p.m. Even though he was asked not to sleep at the library, a man wearing all black went back to sleep there.
2:53 p.m. A male with a face tattoo near 13th Street was walking up to people’s windows and staring at them.
4:30 p.m. Someone was looking into cars and making people uncomfortable on Colorado Avenue.
6:27 p.m. A man was reportedly yelling at guests on Wisconsin Avenue.
8:54 p.m. The caller would like police to stop a red stretch Hummer-limo because it ran a red light and turned right from the left-hand lane.
9:03 p.m. Four cars of teenagers were racing down Armory Road.
11:51 p.m. There is an alarm at a construction site on Highway 93 that goes off every time it rains.
June 14
11:15 a.m. The caller saw an elderly woman in a purple robe standing outside in the rain on State Park Road.
6:04 p.m. Another black bear got into some trash and the caller from Texas Avenue would like police to cite the neighbor for having unsecured garbage.
6:14 p.m. The caller found a stray Australian shepherd and will bring the dog to the Whitefish Police Department.
8:32 p.m. Someone hit the caller’s truck on Third Street and left a note. A female saw the incident and believes the note writer was drinking when it occurred.
June 15
2:02 a.m. A male in the lobby of a business on Highway 93 was not being disorderly, just aloof. Eventually, the extremely intoxicated man was collected by his friend who was a guest of the establishment.
4:28 a.m. There was a male kneeling in the middle of Highway 93, trying to get hit by cars.
6:58 a.m. Adding to an ongoing issue, the neighbors on Lion Mountain Loop Road continue to leave garbage unsecured and bears go through it and spread it everywhere.
7:04 a.m. While an officer was on Lion Mountain Loop Road to check on the trash cans, he also fielded a complaint by someone whose driveway was blocked by a silver passenger car.
9:33 a.m. A whole tree fell down on Seventh Street and O’Brien. There were no injuries and the tree was removed from the road.
11:17 a.m. Someone found a black, kids bike on Columbia Avenue.
1:40 p.m. A female was cited for careless driving after causing a fender bender.
3:57 p.m. Reportedly, there was a vehicle parked so it blocked traffic and fire hydrants on Wisconsin Avenue.
4:41 p.m. A friendly German shepherd mix was seen on Seventh Street.
6:13 p.m. A German shepherd who wandered off an hour ago was reunited with her owner.
