Whitefish Community Foundation to hold nonprofit meeting
Whitefish Community Foundation will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, Jan. 27 for nonprofit organizations interested in applying to participate in the 2022 Great Fish Community Challenge.
The meeting, open to all Flathead Valley nonprofits, will take place online from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Since its inception in 2013, the Great Fish Community Challenge has raised over $17 million for more than 75 local nonprofits.
Attending the informational meeting is a required part of the application process for organizations that have never participated in the Great Fish Community Challenge and for those that did not participate in the 2021 challenge. Whitefish Community Foundation highly recommends that all other organizations that plan to apply for the 2022 Challenge attend the meeting.
Topics to be covered at the meeting include the application process, eligibility requirements, participation requirements, event dates and allowable uses of funds raised in the challenge.
In addition to covering important aspects of the Great Fish Community Challenge, Whitefish Community Foundation will share information about changes to its Community Grant Program. Since 2000, Whitefish Community Foundation has awarded $2.24 million in Community Grants to local nonprofit organizations.
“Whitefish Community Foundation’s Board of Directors recently expanded our Community Grant Program to help nonprofits make an even bigger impact on the Flathead Valley,” President and CEO Linda Engh-Grady said. “We strongly encourage local nonprofits to attend the meeting on January 27 to learn about changes to the program and how they might benefit.”
Advance registration for the meeting is required. Nonprofits can register online at whitefishcommunityfoundation.org/great-fish.
The Great Fish Community Challenge is a charitable giving campaign that offers donors the opportunity to give to multiple organizations with one transaction. At the conclusion of the challenge, Whitefish Community Foundation awards a percentage matching grant on the first $20,000 raised by each participating organization. Last year’s challenge raised more than $4.2 million for 61 local organizations.
Applications for the challenge will be accepted from April 18 to June 2 through Whitefish Community Foundation’s online granting portal. For more information, call Whitefish Community Foundation at (406) 863-1781 or email contact@whitefishcommunityfoundation.org.
