Hospital sets new record for deliveries in 2021

Logan Health – Whitefish set a new record for the most babies delivered in a single year in the hospital’s 116-year history. Between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2021, the Whitefish Birth Center delivered 610 babies.

“Our Birth Center’s labor and delivery teams work closely alongside providers to make every family’s birth experience personalized, providing person-centered care in a serene environment,” said Amy Vanterpool, chief clinical officer at Logan Health – Whitefish. “Mothers and families from our communities benefit from our caring and experienced nurses who all receive extensive, ongoing training in emergency procedures and progressive techniques. We are excited to serve our growing communities.”

The previous record of 582 babies was set in 2016. The record was broken on Dec. 16, 2021 as baby number 583 was born.

Additionally Logan Health – Whitefish welcomed its first baby of the New Year, Ella Butterfly, born Jan. 1, 2022 at 1:42 a.m. She is the second child of Milyn Lazyboy and John Butterfly of Browning, Montana.

Logan Health - Whitefish is a 501(c) (3), non-profit community Critical Access Hospital located in Whitefish, Montana. Logan Health - Whitefish was the first hospital in Montana to be affiliated with Planetree International, a non-profit organization that provides education and information in a collaborative community of healthcare organizations, facilitating efforts to create person centered care in healing environments.
