Whitefish Community Library receives generous donation
The Whitefish Community Library has recently received a generous donation from the estate of Vera Jean “Connie” and Ira James “Jake” Heckathorn. The Board of Trustees is thrilled to accept their gift and would like to declare the continued gratitude owed to these dedicated library champions.
Connie and Jake Heckathorn were two of the biggest supporters the Whitefish Community Library has ever known. Their benevolence spans many decades of the Library’s existence and evolution during which time they completed every task no matter how large or small. From covering books and volunteering time, to detailed planning, designing, and fundraising for the Library’s current building, the Heckathorns have been visionaries for the Library’s past, present and future. This gift will ensure that a few long-term renovation projects will be completed and that the Library building will be fortified and illuminated for generations to come.
The Trustees look forward to a rededication of the Library’s Community Room, The Jake and Connie Heckathorn Meeting Room, in the near future.
The mission of the Whitefish Community Library is to bring people and ideas together by providing and sharing information, inspiring lifelong learning, advancing knowledge and strengthening our community.
