Glacier Nordic team competes in sunny Jackson Hole
This weekend marked the last big travel weekend for the Glacier Nordic Competition team as they raced in sunny Jackson, Wyoming. The third and final Junior Nationals qualifier came with nerves and eager anticipation as athletes' results determined who will attend Junior Nationals in Minneapolis, Minnesota this March.
Glacier had a stellar weekend all around. The athletes raced a classic sprint in warm and tricky waxing conditions on Friday, and a frozen and super fast skate mass start on Saturday. The fastest athletes were completing the bulletproof 5k in 12 minutes, and the 10k in 23 minutes.
After the accumulation of points from three weekends of events, Glacier is excited to have two athletes qualified for Junior Nationals 2022. Maeve Ingelfinger and Jacob Henson will be heading out March 4 for a week of racing against the fastest juniors in the country. Coach Bender will be accompanying them as she is one of the trip’s head coaches for the Intermountain Division.
