Don “K” and Subaru recently donated $4,000 to the Flathead County Animal Shelter after dealership employees chose the shelter as the 2021 Hometown Charity for the October Subaru Loves Pets month.

“While the pandemic has impacted our lives in countless ways, the team at Don “K” continues to honor our decades-long commitment to meaningful involvement with local charities and good causes across the Valley,” Kevin Kaltschmidt, dealership general manager, said. “Our Subaru Loves Pets Hometown Charity for 2021 was the Flathead County Animal Shelter. We are delighted to report that the Shelter found homes for 40 dogs and cats during the 2021 campaign.”

Cliff Bennett, director of the Flathead County Animal Shelter said, “We are so grateful to Don “K” and Subaru for this donation that will make it possible to provide much needed diagnostic and supportive medical care for the pets that come to the Shelter.

“Funds will go to purchase a newer radiograph machine that will help make it possible to return the lost and rehome the abandoned or surrendered,” he added. “It is through such involved and caring partners as Don “K” and Subaru that it is possible to continue our heartfelt work.”

The annual Subaru Loves Pets event is a month-long financial commitment by Subaru dealers nationwide to support local shelters and to help find loving, “fur-ever” homes for pets in need. During the 2021 campaign, Subaru and dealers like Don “K” Subaru helped 36,000 pets nationwide.

Don “K” Subaru is one of the exceptional, award-winning brands sold at Don “K” Whitefish. The dealership is the only locally owned new car dealership in the Flathead. For 33 years they have continually been rated No. 1 in customer care and service by its loyal customers.
