The new Town Pump gas station and convenience store at the intersection of Highway 93 and Montana 40 opened quietly on Dec. 16.

Due to supply troubles, construction of the building took two months longer than expected but is open now and offering specials to celebrate the new store.

“Town Pump has been part of the Whitefish community for over 30 years and are pleased to continue to serve the Whitefish community,” said Town Pump Director of Communications, Bill McGladdery.

It is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day and offers 28 fueling stations and five electric vehicle charging stations.

The building was designed with the area in mind. The building’s use of stone, steel and lapboard is in keeping with the desired style for the area known as the ‘gateway to Whitefish’.

Inside the store, customers are treated to 10,188 square feet of food and drink options. Skylights allow customers to shop with natural light, something rarely seen in convenience stores. All other lights are energy-efficient LEDs, according to the Town Pump.

Stone House Coffee and Deli Company provides travelers with fresh coffee, hot and cold food items prepared on-site, and frozen drinks. Sodas, waters, milk and frozen foods stay chilled behind 41 cooler doors and there is also a surprisingly extensive wine department.

In addition to food and drink, other convenience store offerings like batteries, dog treats and paper products are also available.

McGladdery says the store is almost completely staffed but there are still jobs available.

Grand opening specials will remain in effect until the end of February.
