Police Calls: Drunken and disorderly yeti causes a stir

Dec. 2

7:04 a.m. It turned out that no one stole the caller’s pistol from his truck last night. His fiance had merely taken it out of the vehicle.

9:00 a.m. The manager of a business on Highway 93 was advised of his options regarding a car that parks in front of the building overnight and most of the day.

9:24 a.m. An alleged trespasser at a property on Monegan Road is still causing problems.

1:38 p.m. No injuries occurred when a Toyota pickup and a blue Subaru collided in a parking lot on Highway 93.

4:51 p.m. Someone tried using a fake ID to buy alcohol at a business on Highway 93 and the business now has the ID.

1:27 a.m. A visitor to Whitefish spent some time walking around, looking for his girlfriend who was upset and drunk. He feared she would pass out in the snow but she was found.

2:18 a.m. Two arguing parties on Central Avenue were separated.

Dec. 3

7:11 a.m. A woman on Spokane Avenue was just putting the case back on her phone when she accidentally dialed 911.

8:56 a.m. Someone left a driver's license in a store on Highway 93 last night and the caller turned it in to the police.

12:01 p.m. Although one sticker had been partially removed, the car that had been parked for a long time on Fourth Street got a second sticker applied.

12:21 p.m. Two dogs that had been wandering on Karrow Avenue were back in their yard.

12:38 p.m. The vehicle that was stuck in gear, unable to move and blocking the east bound lane of Lakeshore Drive was towed.

2:42 p.m. The caller thought a impaired driver got into a white Ford Explorer because he was stumbling, not able to walk and smelled of alcohol.

5:19 p.m. The woman who was involved in a motor vehicle accident yesterday thought the Montana Highway Patrol could help find her missing drivers license because she has to take a train tomorrow and needs ID.

8:01 p.m. Many fortunate drivers received warnings for various offenses tonight including no turn signal, no trailer lights, no tail light, no proof of insurance in the vehicle, a headlight problem and speeding.

Dec. 9

10:23 a.m. The 911 call was made accidentally when a granddaughter got a hold of her grandmother's phone.

10:40 a.m. A black and gray dog on O’Brien Avenue came out of nowhere and growled and barked at the caller, causing her to have to run into her house to get away.

1:22 p.m. A vehicle slid down an embankment and damaged a tree on Hilltop Court.

7:15 p.m. An intoxicated male in a yeti costume was pounding on people’s cars and messing with them.

7:54 p.m. The caller reported that there was water spewing out the front door of the house across the street on Houston Drive. It was unknown if it is a vacation home or if the owner just wasn’t there but it is suspected there is a broken pipe on the second floor.

8:50 p.m. A pastor backed out of a garage and hit a vehicle that was parked directly behind the garage in a no parking zone. He is still waiting to hear from the car’s owner.

9:02 p.m. The caller said he had about $3000 worth of skis in the back of his truck. He says he left the tailgate down, the skis fell out of his vehicle and when he went to look for them they were gone.

11:04 p.m. Vehicles parked on Pheasant Run were stickered for being parked too long and for being parked on the wrong side of the street.

1:41 a.m. An intoxicated pedestrian on the viaduct was given a ride to his home on East Lakeshore Drive, for his own safety.
