Whitefish Trail Hootenanny returns to downtown Whitefish
After a two-year hiatus, the Whitefish Trail Hootenanny is back. Come celebrate the Whitefish Trail and local conservation lands with Whitefish Legacy Partners during the annual Whitefish Trail Hootenanny on Friday, Aug. 19 at Depot Park in downtown Whitefish from 5 to 9 p.m.
Enjoy live music, kid’s activities, food trucks, local craft beer and a huge raffle. All ages are welcome, and participants are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to the event. All proceeds directly benefit the Whitefish Trail.
The annual music festival features three live bands: A-Mac & the Height from Denver, the Timber Rattlers from Missoula, and local favorite, Brent Jameson Trio. Kid’s activities include a bike obstacle course, art projects, and hula hoops. Food trucks and local craft beer, wine, cider and non-alcoholic beer will be available for purchase. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate, with kids 12 and under free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.whitefishlegacy.org or in person at Glacier Cyclery & Nordic and Sportsman & Ski Haus Whitefish.
“Canceling the past two years has had a big impact on WLP, as the Hootenanny is our biggest fundraising event of the year. We are so excited to bring back this community celebration supporting the Whitefish Trai,” said Alan Davis, Whitefish Legacy Partners Director of Development. “We hope everyone can come out to enjoy some live music and learn more about our important work.”
The fundraising event is made possible by title sponsor First Interstate Bank and event sponsors National Parks Realty, Edward Jones Financial Advisors Joel Pemberton and Jake Armstrong, BNSF, and Glacier Restaurant Group. Music is sponsored by Great Northern Bar and Grill and Casey’s Whitefish; local craft beer is provided by Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company.
The raffle includes two unrestricted roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines, a winter season ski pass from Whitefish Mountain Resort, a mountain bike, and much more.
The Whitefish Trail is the anchor project of Whitefish Legacy Partners, a non-profit organization, and the result of collaborative partnerships providing public access and recreation while protecting clean water, thriving forests and prime wildlife habitat on lands surrounding Whitefish. The Whitefish Trail is currently 47 miles accessed by 15 trailheads just steps from town.
