Grattan wins Senior Championship

Brad Grattan proved to be the most consistent player in the Montana Men’s Senior Golf Championship this past week. The three-day tournament saw players competing at Meadow Lake, Buffalo Hills and Whitefish golf courses. Trailing by 7 shots going into the final round at Buffalo Hill Golf Club, Brad shot a one under 70 and won by 4 shots over the first two days leader who posted an 81.

Club Championship this weekend

The Annual Whitefish Lake Golf Club Championship tournament is set for this Saturday and Sunday. The event will crown champions in men’s, ladies', senior, super senior and junior divisions. There will be a derby on Saturday evening following the first round of play.

Member/Guest tournament deadline

The deadline to participate in the Annual Member/Guest was last Friday or until the field is full. The very popular event will fill quickly, if it has not already, so contact the Golf Shop to see if space is still available.

First tee jitters

If there is a group of golfers standing near the first tee when you are playing, you may feel nervous or get the first tee jitters. Try to focus on your task by thinking positively, remember a great tee shot, then visualize a solid hit with a focus on what you need to do. Ask yourself, “where is my target?” instead of “What if I top the ball?” Breathe, keep your muscles tension free, and make a full, unrestricted swing, with your focus on the target and nothing else. Relaxed arms can swing faster than tense ones so let go of the tension.
