Bike or walk to work on Earth Day
Do you struggle to find parking or are gas prices getting you down? Want to reduce your carbon footprint and increase your fitness? All of these are great reasons to ditch the car and bike and walk your way to work.
Kick off the spring commuting season by pledging to bike or walk to work on Earth Day, Friday, April 22. Stop by the O’Shaughnessy Center or Logan Health Whitefish for free coffee and fruit between 7:30 and 9 a.m. Glacier Cyclery will be on hand to do any basic tune-ups.
All participants can enter the Earth Day Give-Away and win bicycle helmets donated by Great Northern Cycles and Glacier Cyclery. Challenge your climate smarts by taking the Climate Trivia Quiz and be automatically entered into a drawing for free ice cream. Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/climatetrivia.
"In celebration of Earth Day, residents that live and work in the City of Whitefish can join together on this day to reduce their impact on the planet by walking or riding a bike,” states Parks and Recreation Director Maria Butts. “This event kicks off the season and promotes a healthy and fun alternative to commuting to work."
