Voice opinion on future of highway downtown

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, 3:30 pm at the O’Shaughnessy Center, there is an open house to show options for the Montana Department of Highways proposals for the reconfiguring of Spokane Ave from 13th to Second streets.

The preferred "Option C" by the MDOT is not in keeping with the current entrance into Whitefish. That option will make the road three lanes and may involve the removal of all trees along those sidewalks and subsequently decimate the green atmosphere.

Option G is a far better layout as it maintains the current two lanes while adding a bike lane. It also provides for three lanes from 13th Street to Seventh Street and the connection of Seventh from Kalispell Avenue with a light at that intersection. I urge all citizens to attend the open house and voice their opinion in favor of Option G, to MDOT.
