Police Calls: Bears spotted all over town

Saturday, Sept. 2

8:08 a.m. A driver was cited for failing to remain at an accident on Baker Ave.

9:36 a.m. Caller was upset about a neighbor who posted on Facebook discouraging people from buying the caller’s house.

11:53 a.m. A black bear had been stuck in a tree since the night before on Railway Street.

12:10 p.m. A sow and her cubs were wandering around Lakeshore Drive eating berries and getting into garbage.

5:12 p.m. Two individuals were advised to keep their dogs on leashes and stay away from each other after a disagreement on Locarno Drive.

9:28 p.m. Lights shining near a house on Ridge Court Crest were just lights and not cameras as a caller feared.

Sunday, Sept. 3

2:15 a.m. Three bears were getting into garbage on Park Ave.

3:43 a.m. Someone on Wisconsin Avenue left their trash out and bears were getting into it.

8:54 a.m. A lost yellow lab was returned to their owner.

11:39 a.m. Shoes and a camping pack were left on a property on Woodland Place.

2:57 p.m. Caller was upset about construction trucks dropping debris and nails around town causing them to have flat tires on their vehicle.

4:22 p.m. A friendly chocolate lab was lost on Lakeshore Drive.

10:03 p.m. Caller was upset about loud music on Wisconsin Ave.

10:56 p.m. A driver was going 45 mph in a 25 mph zone and passed another vehicle in a no passing zone on Baker Ave.

Monday, Sept. 4

7:45 a.m. The road was blocked on Highway 93 after a traffic accident.

1:50 p.m. A vehicle had been parked on Montana Avenue for a few weeks without moving.

5:25 p.m. Two children were riding four-wheelers on Meadowlark Lane speeding up and down the street.

9:07 p.m. A dog was wandering around on the road on Wisconsin Ave.

11:16 a.m. A bike was stolen on Birch Point Drive.

12:13 p.m. Two dogs were missing on Lakeshore Drive.

4 p.m. Bears were hanging around on Lakeshore Drive.

7:27 p.m. A bear was in the backyard of a house on Baker Ave.

Wednesday, Sept. 6

10:37 a.m. Caller was missing a wallet that looked like a coconut.

11:40 a.m. A man was muttering to himself on Highway 93.

5:59 p.m. Someone dropped their keys into the basement of the parking garage.

6:09 p.m. Two dogs had been locked in a car for more than 30 minutes on Central Ave.

Thursday, Sept. 7

2:13 a.m. Someone on Ashar Ave. reported hearing shots fired.

11:11 a.m. Two people on Kalispell Ave. got into a physical altercation over vaccination status.

12:02 p.m. Someone lost their wallet at the dog park.

12:24 p.m. A license plate was missing from a vehicle on Spokane Ave.

2:13 p.m. A dog was stuck between the siding and the wall of a building.

2:37 p.m. A driver denied backing into another driver on Highway 93.

10:26 p.m. A dog had been barking on and off for two hours on Patton Lane.

11:35 p.m. Caller was upset the train station was closing.

Friday, Sept. 8

12:17 p.m. A hound-type dog was wandering on Lakeshore Drive.

3:56 p.m. A car had been parked for several weeks in a parking lot on Baker Ave.

5:34 p.m. An employee claimed his boss stole $200 of his tips and threatened him with bodily harm.

Saturday, Sept. 9

12:22 a.m. Caller on Lupfer Ave. complained about people making noise.

8:28 a.m. Someone stole clothing and other items from a donation bin at a thrift store.

3:07 p.m. All four doors of a car were keyed.

11:19 p.m. There was an ongoing issue with neighbors being noisy on Lupfer Ave.
