National talent and rising stars feature of Songwriter Festival
For three days and nights, downtown Whitefish will come alive for the Whitefish Songwriter Festival with six hit songwriters and 17 rising stars performing more than 30 shows in the restaurants, bars, theaters, and Whitefish’s Depot Park.
Shows will kick off Thursday, Sept. 16 and run through Saturday evening, Sept. 18.
This inaugural festival will give music lovers and fans the chance to kick back and enjoy songwriting at its best.
“The excitement around the festival is over-the-top,” said festival producer Cari Klepper. “People are so excited to enjoy some amazing songwriting.”
This year’s Hit Songwriter Showcase line-up includes Nashville Hall of Famers Even Stevens and Kostas and hit songwriters James Dean Hicks, Karen Staley, Randy Montana and Susan Gibson. These songwriters combined have charted more than 30 No. 1 hits and hundreds of Billboard’s top hits for artists like Luke Combs, Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny Rogers, Patty Loveless, Oak Ridge Boys, Dwight Yoakam, The Chicks, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis and more.
Festival highlights include 24 rising star shows and three hit songwriter showcases. Other must-see shows are Friday and Saturday morning Songwriter Interviews at 10:30 a.m. at Fleur Bake Shop and the Songwriters in the Park at Depot Park Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
These two shows are free to the public and offer the chance to bring the family and experience the festival.
