The Whitefish High School golf team had a slow week for competition with only the Ronan Invite at the Mission Mountain Golf Club on the schedule.

The Bulldogs decided to only send a boys team that was a mix of junior varsity and varsity golfers. Sophomore Riley Brown led the boys team scoring an 80.

“Riley Brown played solid with a great back nine, shooting 38 to help round out his score of 80,” Whitefish golf head coach Tait Rocksund said.

All the WHS golfers scored in the 80s and showed progress according to the coach. The boys team came in third overall, scoring 342 behind Polson in first and Hamilton in second.

Rocksund was also impressed with two freshmen Christian Schwaderer and CJ Thew.

“Christian Schwaderer and CJ Thew continue to show excellent progress with their golf games,” he said. “Both posted solid scores in the 80s.”

The golf team was scheduled to play in Corvallis on Monday but the results were not yet available as of press time.

Whitefish will play in Frenchtown on Thursday at 10 a.m.
