Belated Thanks for Bulldog Support

The Gary Norby Junior Golf Foundation committee would like to thank all the players that participated and various businesses that sponsored the Bulldog Open. What a great town we are fortunate to live in with generous community members stepping up to support our various activities and events. A special thanks to Don K Subaru, National Parks Realty, Whitefish Lake Restaurant, Golf Shop, Glacier Bank, First Interstate Bank and American Bank for being Corporate Sponsors. Also thanks to all the committee members who volunteered their time to help the Norby Foundation support Junior Golf and the WHS teams.

Speed not needed

For shots a hundred yards or less, you do not need a swing that has a great deal of speed. A wedge is intended for accuracy, not distance. It’s all about how close you hit the shot, not how far. Consistency comes for a repeatable swing that is driven by your shoulders not by arm speed. Practice a smooth swing, and you should get better results in getting the ball closer to the hole. If you watched the BMW Professional tournament last weekend, especially in the playoff, you could see that the players were in control of their short games without swinging hard. Even Bryson hits his short irons with a rocking motion of his shoulders. What a putting show by Patrick Cantley during the tournament.
