Spots available in FVSEF youth ski programs

| October 27, 2021 1:00 AM

The Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation is still taking youth skiers for the upcoming ski season in the Ranger and Development programs.

The programs are designed for kids ages 7 to 13 looking to improve their skiing skills.

Space is available to register for the Sunday sessions (only) of All Mountain Rangers and Development Team programs.

The All Mountain Rangers program is intended for 7-12 year olds with previous skiing experience. Sessions run from Dec.19 through March 20 and includes a four-day camp on Dec. 26-29 during the school holiday break. Groups ski most of the mountain, though entry level Rangers may not necessarily ski black diamond runs. Participants should be able to load and ride the lift with little or no help from a coach or others.

The Development Team is for those kids 8-13 years old with one or more years of participation in All Mountain Rangers or an equivalent program as determined by FVSEF staff. The program runs from Dec. 12 through March 27 with a five-day holiday camp Dec. 26-30 included. All mountain skiing and skill development remains the focus, though up to 35% of on snow time may be spent gate training or competing in Tommy Moe series races or Northern Division Youth Ski League races.

FVSEF also offers weekday training after school for an additional fee as well as competitive programs for U14 and U16 racers with previous racing experience. Registration for all programs is available online at FVSEF.org.

FVSEF is a non-profit valley-wide youth sports organization. Sixty percent of the program budget comes from sponsors, donors, and fundraising.
