Climate group holds recycling webinar
Climate Smart Glacier Country is holding its final webinar in the virtual series “Beyond Recycling: Making Zero Waste Work” on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
The session is from noon to 1:15 p.m.
Titled “Bringing Zero Waste Home,” this session will feature speakers from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality to discuss its household hazardous waste program and Flathead Industries to discuss trends in “thrifting and sustainability.” Representatives from each organization will help attendees learn why such practices are good for the environment and provide tips for households interested in reducing their carbon footprint through zero waste practices.
Following the presentation will be an interactive question and answer session that includes Climate Smart board members sharing highlights of the webinar series. Climate Smart Board Member Jill Zignego will be facilitating the final discussion.
“We are thrilled that these webinars allowed local, state and national leaders to share their expertise on this topic,” she said. “Climate Smart hopes this series motivates local organizations to undertake zero waste projects.”
The webinar will be recorded and posted to the CSGC website along with all previous webinars from the series. The webinar is free, but participants must register in advance. Participants will be entered in a drawing to win a $25 gift card from a local business.
